Snaggy Mountain Rock Maze – walk through interesting rock formations. 2 miles from glamping.
Herrington Manor State Park – hiking, fishing, biking, and swimming at a sandy beach. Canoes are also available to rent. 1 mile from glamping.
Swallow Falls State Park – hiking, fishing, and swimming in the river. The highest waterfall in the state of Maryland. 3 miles from glamping.
Cranesville Swamp – 1600 acre nature preserve with interesting landscape and trails. 8 miles from glamping.
Broadford Lake – community park in Oakland. Hiking, fishing, and swimming at a sandy beach. Boats are also available to rent. 4 miles from glamping.
Ohio Pyle State Park – a bit further away, Ohio Pyle offers a tremendous range of outdoor activities. From white water rafting, to biking, hiking, and fishing. Also a nice little town with restaurants. Makes a great day trip. 39 miles from glamping.
Falling Water – Frank Lloyd Wright’s most famous building. Even if you are not an architecture buff, this is a must see. Reservations are strongly recommended. This is very near Ohio Pyle State Park, so could make a great combination day trip. 43 miles from glamping.
Davis/Thomas WV – 25 miles from glamping. Another good day trip with Blackwater Falls state park, great mountain biking, hiking, restaurants, and the almost world famous Purple Fiddle Cafe and Stage.
